Pat Benatar to Appear at Sands, Barnes & Noble

There will be two local opportunities for fans to see the '80s star this Sunday.

Pat Benatar, the Grammy-winning singer who shot to fame in the '80s rock world with songs like "Love is a Battlefield," "Heartbreaker" and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," will be playing at the with her husband, Neil Giraldo, this Sunday, June 26.

Benatar has been married to guitarist, songwriter, producer and collaborator Giraldo for 28 years, and the two have toured together for more than three decades.

As part of the resort casino's Musik at the Sands concert series, in collaboration with ArtsQuest, the star will perform in a 2,000-seat tent at the Sands. All proceeds from the series will support the planned Festival Center at SteelStacks.

Before the concert, Benatar and Giraldo will appear at the Barnes & Noble in Bethlehem Township from noon to 2pm. Fans who buy a copy of Benatar's book "Between a Heart and a Rock Place: A Memoir," which goes on sale at 10 that morning, will receive a wristband after their purchase.

This band will give those fans admittance to the book-signing event; however, the band does not guarantee admission into the signing if time runs out.

No other items will be allowed for signing. Cameras and camera phones are also not allowed. Full guidelines for the event -- a large crowd is expected -- can be found here.

The Barnes & Noble is at 4445 Southmont Way, just off Freemansburg Avenue and Route 33, in the Southmont Shopping Center.
