Police: Woman Accused of Bug-Zapper Assault Violated PFA
Christy Lynn Flyte, 36, of Lower Nazareth is accused of violating a protection-from-abuse order her ex-boyfriend took out earlier this week following several incidents, including an alleged bug-zapper assault.
A Lower Nazareth woman charged last month with attacking her ex-boyfriend with a tennis-racket-shaped bug zapper is now accused of violating a protection-from-abuse order the ex-boyfriend took out earlier this week.
When Christy Lynn Flyte, 36, was charged in the bug zapper incident, she was released on $5,000 unsecured bail. This time, after being charged early Friday with violating the PFA, she was committed to Northampton County Prison after failing to post $2,500 bail.
The ex-boyfriend’s PFA application mentions the Sept. 18 bug zapper incident. It also says Flyte threatened to kill him. Under “previous incidents,” the ex-boyfriend wrote, “She had a knife in her hand and went at me with it.”

He also said Flyte beat him, threatened to kill him and “kicked me in my bad leg.”
The PFA says Flyte is prohibited from stalking or harassing the ex-boyfriend’s mother.

Court records from the bug zapper incident say the ex-boyfriend made a video of the alleged attack with his smartphone. A Colonial Regional Police officer says in the records he watched the video, which showed Flyte throwing things and hitting the ex-boyfriend with the bug zapper.
The ex-boyfriend, whose age is listed as 32, said the alleged PFA violation occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Friday when Flyte came to his apartment on Newburg Road near Route 191 in Lower Nazareth. For about an hour, Flyte allegedly pounded and kicked the apartment door, “requesting” that he open it.
The PFA application, filed Tuesday, described an incident occurring around 10 the night before. It says the ex-boyfriend came home and Flyte was on his porch. She started yelling and screaming. He said neighbors called police.
”She grabbed and held onto me so I couldn’t get to my vehicle,” he wrote. He broke free but she came at him again. “I pushed her and got into my car and left,” he said.
A hearing on the PFA had been scheduled for Oct. 17 in Northampton County Court.
Flyte's address, the 400 block of Nazareth Pike, is a short distance from the ex-boyfriend’s apartment.
She was arraigned at 3:30 a.m. Friday by on-duty District Judge Todd Strohe of Bangor.
