An ice cream festival and a visit from the "Cat in the Hat" are just a few of the kid-friendly activities going on this week around Nazareth.

1. Ice Cream Festival
Where/When: Forks United Church of Christ, 4500 Sullivan Trail, Stockertown; Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (rain date is Thursday, Aug. 11)
Why Go: The public is welcome to enjoy this annual ice cream festival at Forks United Church of Christ in Stockertown. The festival will feature a DJ, a variety of food, a cake walk, games, a raffle, and, of course, ice cream!

2. The "Cat in the Hat" to Visit Perkins
When/Where: Perkins Family Restaurant and Bakery; Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Why Go: Thursday night is kids night at Perkins (3940 Nazareth Pike,
Bethlehem).
The Deal: Between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m., buy one adult entrée and get one kids meal free.
The Cat: Between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., your kids can hang out with the "Cat in the Hat" while also enjoying a family dinner.

3. Auditions for the Holiday Revue, "Twas One Crazy Night Before Christmas!"
Where/When: ; Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Why Go: Performers from first grade through high school are needed for acting, singing and dancing parts.
Audition details: All auditioners are asked to bring a head shot. First through third graders must be prepared to give a brief introduction and to sing “Happy Birthday." Those in fourth grade through high school must be prepared to perform a solo voice piece, a brief monologue and a “cold” read.
4. All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast Buffet
Where/When: ; Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Why Go: Take a break and let someone else do the cooking! Come out and enjoy a delicious, all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet.
Price: Adults: $7, Children: $4, Seniors: $5
5. Kids Night at Chick-fil-A
When/Where: ; Tuesday, Aug. 16 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Why Go: During next week's craft night at Chick-fil-A, kids are invited to take on an awesome do-it-yourself project -- a superhero mask!
