Kevin Lambert, 37, is a volunteer firefighter and the fire marshal with . He has been with the company since 1993.
Lambert, who lives in , works as a Safety Direct for H.T. Lyons Inc. in Allentown, handling claims and risk management.
He and his wife, Sarah, have two children, Katie and Nathaniel.

“It’s very self-gratifying, serving the community.”

What kind of training have you had so far?
According to Lambert, he is a certified firefighter with training in arson investigation and haz-mat operations.
What made you decide to become a firefighter?
Volunteerism runs in Lambert's family -- his father was a member of a volunteer fire company in New Jersey for 25 years.
At age 16, Lambert joined his local emergency medical services (EMS). When he was old enough, he became a firefighter, serving with his father for two years before moving to Pennsylvania.
How do your loved ones feel about you putting your life on the line?
“They’re very supportive but [become] concerned from time to time. My son gets excited but he worries too. He understands.”
What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining the department?
“It’s a great way to get to know the general public and become involved in your community.”
