Three Acts Scheduled to Perform this Weekend at the Nazareth Center for the Arts

Elisha Kane, Kyle "boog" Simmons and Jordan White are all scheduled to perform.

Music will fill the Nazareth Center for the Arts this weekend -- as it usually does -- as three different performers take the stage Friday and Saturday nights.

From 8 p.m to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Elisha Kane -- pronounced "Elijah" -- and Kyle "boog" Simmons -- "boog" with a little "b" -- will perform live.

Kane is a singer and guitarist with a varied musical style that includes alternative, folk and alternative country music.             

According to Kane’s Facebook page, some of the recording artists who influence his music are Bob Dylan, Merle Haggard and Pete Seeger, just to name a few.

And then there's Kyle "boog" Simmons, who is based out of Philadelphia. His music genre is described as both alternative and folk.

According to "boog's" Facebook page, he left Temple University in the winter of 2009 to write and record an album. Except for one piano track, continues his bio, the entirety of "The Walking Club" was written, performed, mixed and produced singlehandedly by "boog" between January and June 2010, with mastering by John Baker of Maja Media.

In an e-mail to Patch, "boog" said he is working on a new release.

Admission is free, but a $10 donation to benefit the Nazareth Arts Center is suggested.

Jordan White

Jordan White will play at the Nazareth Center for the Arts Saturday night, taking the stage at 8 p.m.

White is a singer-songwriter whose musical genre’s include alternative, acoustic confessional and progressive rock. Some of his musical influences include Jackson Browne, Van Morrison and Ritchie Valens. 

According to his website, White has toured the United States for the last six years, playing both acoustic and electric rock as a solo act and as part of a band.

White was a 2007 finalist in the Lehigh Valley Acoustic Competition, and in August 2010, was nominated for three Lehigh Valley Music Awards -- "Best Songwriter," "Best Lyricist" and "Best Band Website."

In an April 2010 interview aired on WFMZ-TV Channel 69, White explained how he gets his inspiration for songs, and said he writes lyrics that he feels everyone can relate to.

In that same interview, when asked what his goals were, he said, “I want to win a Grammy.”
