Volunteers, Donations Needed for Theatre Troupe's 'Anything Goes'

The Nazareth Area High School Theatre Troupe is looking for volunteer seamstresses and donations of 1930s style clothing, graduation or choir robes, and more.

The Nazareth Area High School Theatre Troupe is busy preparing for its next musical, "Anything Goes."

But before curtains rise in April, the theatre troupe needs the community's help.

Donations Needed:

  • 1930s style clothing (traveling aboard the ship) -Β men and women, casual and dress, includingΒ hats, gloves, handbags and suitcases.
  • Seven (7) graduation or choir robes -Β can be on loan, will be cleaned and returned. Bright colors, no black.
  • Sailor hats and uniformsΒ - or white scrub pants and long sleeve tops that can be converted. Sailor hats and uniforms can be returned.

Volunteers Needed:

  • SeamstressesΒ are needed to help construct costumes.

Volunteers needed for program layout and design. This would be a great opportunity for someone studying graphic design and/or marketing. The volunteers will work with staff on designing advertisements, laying out pages, writing copy, etc. GreatΒ experience for resumes and portfolios.

The theatre troupe will present "Anything Goes" onΒ April 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28.Β The troupe willΒ participate in the 2013 Freddy Awards.

Here's a brief synopsis of "Anything Goes" byΒ www.broadwaymusicalhome.com:

Aboard the S.S. American are Billy Crocker, a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who in turn is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, nightclub singer and former evangelist Reno Sweeney, and Public Enemy #13, Moonface Martin, who is posing as a minister. A series of comical mistaken identities ensues as the passengers and crew sing and dance their way across the Atlantic.
