THIS WEEKEND: The Northampton County Open Gate Farm Tour

The Northampton County Open Gate Farm Tour is this weekend - Saturday, October 11th and Sunday, October 12th from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. both days - and so far the weather is looking good! Spring Valley Farm is number 13. They are a preserved farm located in Bangor that is 3 generations strong and they grow their own crops from their own land and rented land to feed all of their livestock. If you stop by to visit them during the tour, you will see the very young livestock of dairy and beef as well as the dairy barn and all of its features; from cow comfort to environmentally friendly manure handling. They invite you to share a day in the life of a dairy farmer, featuring the “milk story” and a “fall harvest surprise”. It will be an educational experience for all ages and will end with fun at the ice cream sundae bar. Be sure to visit Spring Valley Farm and the other Open Gate farms this weekend.
