The 2013-2014 Nazareth Winter Sports season is rapidly in it's last week of the regular season. The Nazareth Wrestling Team back on January 28th host Easton and won that match by a score of 36-17.  Also back on January 28 Rob Melosky resigned as Nazareth Football Season after 6 season going 42-29.  The search for a new football coach is underway now! On Thursday January 30th Nazareth Boys Basketball welcomed E-Burg south to the gym where the Blue Eagles got a 47-45 win!  On Friday January 31 The Boys Basketball team went over to Parkland where they suffered a 78-70 lost.  Also, on Friday January 31 the Girls Basketball team welcomed Parkland and beat Parkland 32-25 And then on Saturday February 1st the Central Catholic Vikettes came to the Ray Nunamaker Gym and got a 42-21 win over Nazareth.  The Monday February 3 Girls Game with Emmaus was moved to Thursday February 6 due to the SNOW.  On Tuesday February 4 the Boys Basketball team welcomed Whitehall and the Girls went over to Whitehall.  On Wednesday February 5 the Boys Basketball Team visited Central Catholic. On Thursday February 6 the Girls Basketball team will play Emmaus in the very last Home Game of the regular season and on Friday February 7th the Girls Basketball Team will be at Northampton and the Northampton Boys Basketball team will come to Nazareth for a 7pm game and Nazareth's Senior Night which could be the very last game of the season for the Boys team.  The Wrestling Team participated in the District XI Tournament on January 30th and February 1st. On the 30th they went to Stroudsburg HS And got a 46-12 win over Emmaus and a 45-19 win over host Stroudsburg. Then, on Saturday February 1st was day 2 but this time was at Freedom High School where in the Semifinals the Eagles beat Pocono Mountain East 52-3 and then in the Finals beat Parkland 29-28 on Criteria to qualify for the State Tournament in Hershey at the GIANT Center where on Thursday February 6th they will wrestle St. Marys.  For up to the minute news, check out www.nazarethsports.net.
