Key to Awesomeness:
Justin Albert is a free throw champion. He won at the state Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship in Harrisburg. Justin successfully completed 24 of 25 free throws and left the six other boys in the dust. He was the first in the 13-year-old division to shoot from the foul line.

“I didn’t want to go to states at first, because I didn’t think I’d do well,” Justin said.

Justin said that every time his competition stepped up to shoot, “I was holding my breath. They would make four in a row and I would think just miss two.” They did.

Justin has competed for several years at the Knights of Columbus Free Throw District Competition at Holy Family Parish in Nazareth, but this was the first time he was able to go to the regional competition in Scranton. At districts, he competed against four boys, but at regionals, there were 40 vying for states.

“That was pretty scary,” Justin said. “I honestly didn’t have many thoughts of making it.”
