New Hope Borough Manager Stepping Down In July

NEW HOPE, PA — New Hope Borough Manager Peter Gray is stepping down in late July to take a job with Bristol Borough.

Gray made the announcement public at council’s June 16 borough council meeting after accepting the job of assistant manager in Bristol Borough.

Gray came to New Hope in 2020 from Falls Township where he had served as manager for 13 years and finance director for seven years. He replaced EJ Lee who served two years as manager.

“I have enjoyed my time in New Hope and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity,” said Gray, who has led the borough administratively for the past six years. His term was punctuated by a search for a new police chief and the challenges of the COVID pandemic.

The borough council will be meeting in executive session with its solicitor to map out next steps for finding Gray's replacement.

Gray will be joining Bristol Borough Manager James Dillon at the administrative helm of the riverfront town, which has a population of about 10,000 people and is the oldest borough in the county.

“Mr. Dillon knows Peter because he started in Falls Township with Jim many years ago. He and Jim will be able to work together and move this town in the direction we want it to go,” said Bristol Borough Council President Ralph DiGuiseppi. “And at some point hopefully, a few years from now, he can take over Jim’s position. He’s been a manager for a long time. He knows what he’s doing.”
