Pickle Store Officially Cuts The Ribbon On New Hope Location

NEW HOPE, PA — If you love pickles, New Hope's the place to be.

Giovanni's Dillicious Pickles has officially opened at 127 South Main Street where customers can relish a wide variety of pickle merchandise and food.

Gabby Truitt, the owner of the business, recently joined state lawmakers, pickle fan Bucks County DA Joe Khan, chamber of commerce leaders, borough officials and former Mayor Larry Keller in cutting the ribbon on the new store and eatery.

"We are so excited to welcome Giovanni's Dillicious Pickles," said Michael Sklar, the president of the New Hope Chamber of Commerce. "They are such an asset to this neighborhood and to the community and it's going to be exciting to see what they're going to accomplish here."

The new store is packed with pickle-themed merchandise from baseball caps and t-shirts to books, stuffed toys, and even an emotional support pickle to "dill" with your feelings.

Refrigerated cases are brimming with jars of flavored pickles from butterscotch, black cherry and pineapple to pickled cauliflower, sweet peppers and carrots. They even have a Jolly Rancher line that has proven to be extremely popular.

"We have something for the savory lovers and something for the sweet lovers," said Gabby of their 55 different and very unique flavors.

And behind the counter, customers can order the store's famous pickle sandwiches, a must try for any pickle lover or connoisseur, or ask to try a sample of one of the pickle flavors like fruit puree before making a purchase.

The opening of the New Hope store represents a new chapter for the business, which suffered a major loss in February when a pipe burst at its original Croydon location and forced the eventual closure of the store.

While that was happening, Abby was already in the process of opening a second, retail-only location in New Hope, but planned to stay in Croydon where the business began.

The pipe burst, however, forced her to pivot and to make the tough decision to leave Lower Bucks for now and to consolidate operations in New Hope.

"It was a rough six months. We went through a lot," said Abby. "It was very sad to leave Lower Bucks," said Abby. "This was actually supposed to be our second location and we decided, unfortunately because Croydon was not working out, this is what we're calling home.

"I thought it would break me and my family, but it wasn't a loss. It was the beginning of a new chapter in a story that is still going to be written," she said. "This is our new chapter, our new beginning and I'm so excited to share it with New Hope. The community has been so welcoming. We're so excited to be here."
