Life after “Hopeless”: Matching Challenge to Save Cats in Crisis

Tabby's Place is a haven for cats in "hopeless situations." From wounded orphans to paralyzed seniors, the cage-free sanctuary rescues cats facing great adversities.

This is a costly mission of mercy, with critical medical expenses rising 15% over the past year. But Tabby's Place lives by the philosophy that every life is precious and priceless.

Named for a kitten who survived severe burns, the annual Linda Fund Matching Challenge raises funds for emergency care, ensuring Tabby's Place is ready when cats arrive in crisis. With an audacious goal of $250,000, donations will be doubled for cats like Dahlia.

Woozy with anemia, the famished stray staggered onto a flower farm weighing less than four pounds. Brokenhearted at the sight of the starving cat, the farmer rushed her to Tabby's Place, which he had heard had a reputation for miracles. Against all odds, intensive care saved the fading Dahlia, who is now in "full bloom" as a cherished Tabby's Place resident.

The Linda Fund was also the only hope for Starfish, a pregnant stray in the path of a speeding car. In an instant, Starfish lost her kittens and was paralyzed. Even as her light was fading, there was trust in Starfish's eyes, and Tabby's Place promised to love her back to life. Starfish made an extraordinary recovery in a specialty hospital, and she now frolics in the Tabby's Place lobby.

The littlest Linda Fund cat of the summer is still healing. When her mother vanished, newborn Lilac sustained critical injuries outdoors. The limp orphan arrived with such severe hypoglycemia and anemia, few expected her to live. But stubborn love prevails at Tabby's Place, and a world-class vet team persevered to save Lilac.

Life conquers death at Tabby's Place, but the sanctuary depends on the Linda Fund to save cats with nowhere else to turn. When a Lilac or Dahlia arrives, there is no time to fundraise.

By replenishing the Linda Fund, cat lovers can ensure Tabby's Place will be prepared when the next cat arrives. All gifts will be doubled through 9/30, up to $250,000.
