NEW HOPE, PA – The extraordinary legacy of the New Hope Impressionists continues at Phillips' Mill Community Association, where over 400 works of art will be displayed and on sale during the 97th Juried Art Show from September 26 to November 1.
The show is the most prestigious of its kind in the area, drawing crowds from way beyond Bucks County during the peak fall season, and tickets to the preview party are much sought after.
Besides contemporary Impressionist work, the art includes drawings, paintings and works on paper, contemporary and traditional, framed and unframed; sculpture and fiber art, and ceramic sculpture.

The opening night preview reception for patrons and accepted artists kicks off the show on Friday, September 25, where attendees will get a first look and chance to purchase the art before the show opens to the public the following day. Twenty-three awards totaling $13,500 will be presented to artists at this festive, catered event.

Each year, a new slate of jurors evaluates hundreds of submitted works of art. The 2026 jurors for paintings, drawings, and works on paper are Adriano Farinella, a painter, teacher, and mentor in the Lehigh Valley; Philadelphia-based Chelsey Luster, curator, visual artist, and founder of Luster Gallery + Studio; and Margaret Winslow, Head Curator and Curator of Contemporary Art at the Delaware Art Museum. Jurying the sculpture and portfolio categories are Dennis Beach, creator of intensely colored plywood sculptures; and sculptor, writer and educator Susan Hagen, who is engaged in environmental and social issues.
This year's Honored Artist, a distinction bestowed annually on an artist whose work, dedication, and involvement with the Mill exemplify artistic excellence and camaraderie, is Jennifer Hansen Rolli of Newtown, who has exhibited consistently at the Mill over the years.
Erwinna artist John Kane's image "Phillips' Mill in Winter" was chosen as the 2026 Signature image, a colorful depiction of the Mill used on the show's marketing and advertising materials.
Both artists will be celebrated at the preview reception.
A fascinating "Meet the Artists" program runs the duration of the show, with exhibiting artists on hand daily to chat with visitors about their work. Check the Mill's website frequently for updated schedules.
New this year, the Mill has reached out to offer special support for weekday group visits by youth art classes, senior housing, and other community living groups. If you'd like to organize a group visit, contact artshow@phillipsmill.org.
Also new, Phillips' Mill has launched an "Explore Bucks County Arts |Start at Phillips' Mill" campaign with funding from the Bucks County Tourism Grant Program, to invite art enthusiasts from Hudson Valley to Washington, D.C. to visit Bucks County during the autumn season.

The 97th Juried Art Show is open from September 26 to November 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. and can also be viewed online at phillipsmill.org. Admission is $6 for adults and free for children under 18, exhibiting artists and Phillips' Mill members. Visit on Mondays, and "pay what you wish," a new benefit added this year.
Founded in 1929, the Phillips' Mill Community Association continues the legacy of its legendary founders — William Lathrop, Edward Redfield, Daniel Garber, Fern Coppedge, and other New Hope School artists — by providing a welcoming space for artists to gather and exhibit.
Nearly a century later, the Mill takes pride in presenting the art of today, from traditional Bucks County landscapes to the modern and abstract. Recognized as the birthplace
of Pennsylvania Impressionism, Phillips' Mill remains a jewel of the region and a landmark of American art history.
