NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —Newtown Township police reported several theft investigations and two warrant arrests between April 17 and 23, according to a weekly police log released by the department.
On April 18 at 7:45 p.m., a Newtown Township resident stopped at police headquarters to report the theft of a dirt bike. According to the report, the incident was referred to the detective division for further investigation.
The next day, April 19, at 1:15 p.m., a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report the theft of a package from the porch. The total value of the loss was listed at $100.
Police also reported two arrests during traffic stops tied to active warrants. On April 20, at about 3 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop involving the driver of a Mercedes-Benz in the area of West Road and Durham Road. According to police, the driver was taken into custody without incident on an active arrest warrant from the Edgewater Police Department in New Jersey.
On April 21, at 11:30 p.m., police conducted another traffic stop, this time involving the driver of a Kia sedan in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Richboro Road. The driver was taken into custody without incident on an active arrest warrant from the Bristol Borough Police Department, according to police.
Police also documented a retail theft report on April 21. At 11 a.m., officers were dispatched to Ulta Beauty on South Eagle Road for a report of a retail theft that occurred on Sunday, April 19. An investigation is ongoing.
The final theft listed in the weekly report happened on April 23. At approximately 2 p.m., police received a report of a theft from a construction site in Newtown Township. The estimated loss was $1,200, according to police.
