NEWTOWN, PA — Penn State Extension Master Gardener have announced plans for a spring plant sale on Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (or until sold out) at the Middletown Grange Fairgrounds, 576 Penns Park Road, Newtown. The event will be held rain or shine.
This is the plant sale Bucks County gardeners in the know wait for all year. The popular spring event features a wide selection of plants at affordable prices, including Master Gardener–donated plants, unusual perennials and annuals, vegetables and herbs, native plants, pollinator and butterfly plants, deer-resistant plants, shade plants, houseplants, container plants, and a beautiful variety of hanging baskets perfect for Mother’s Day gifts.
More than 80 Penn State Extension Master Gardeners will be available during the sale to answer home gardening questions and help shoppers choose plants suited to their gardens.
Penn State Extension Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who develop horticultural knowledge through Penn State Extension’s educational program. In return, they donate their time to support community horticulture programs, including educational workshops, demonstration gardens, and the county garden hotline.
Proceeds from the plant sale support gardening education programs, community outreach initiatives, local demonstration gardens, and donations of fresh produce to food pantries throughout Bucks County.
Shoppers are encouraged to arrive early for the best selection and bring a wagon or cart for carrying purchases. The sale will accept cash, checks, and credit cards.
