WRIGHTSTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Wrightstown Farmers Market will celebrate Opening Day on Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Middletown Grange Fairgrounds at 576 Penns Park Road. Operated by the Bucks County Foodshed Alliance, the market is marking its 20th anniversary this year.

The weekly market will be open every Saturday through Thanksgiving from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., except Aug. 15. The market manager said the season will bring back fresh local food, returning favorites, and several opening-day activities.

"From humble beginnings to a beloved weekly tradition, thank you for being part of it," said market organizers. "This season, you can look forward to the fresh, local food you love, along with returning favorites, new vendors, local musical talent, weekly kids’ activities, tasting demos, and plenty more reasons to linger a little longer each Saturday."

Opening Day plans include free anniversary cake baked by Erin Gresh of Forget Me Not Bakery. A nasturtium plant giveaway will begin at 9:30 a.m. while supplies last. The event is also set to feature Monster Bubbles, along with food from Bonjour Creperie Food Truck, Antojitos Mexicanos Maritity, Burek by Zeni, and the Helpful Foodie.

Live music will be by The Goose Creek Pioneers.

On opening day, vendors will be offering fresh vegetables, pasture-raised meats, artisan cheeses, eggs, sourdough bread, mushrooms, locally roasted coffee, olive oil, sweets, pickles, granola, local honey, ready-to-eat meals, soaps, and doggie treats.

The first market will also offer flower bouquets, spinach, root vegetables and tender spring leafy greens. Organizers listed bok choy, arugula, lettuces, spring onions, microgreens and herbs among the seasonal items shoppers will be able to find.
