NEWTOWN, PA — A lockdown Monday morning at Council Rock High School North has been lifted, according to the Newtown Township Police Department.
This morning, police said the high school received a threat. In an abundance of caution, the school was placed on lockdown and first responders completed a sweep of the building, resulting in no credible threats.
Police said the same call has impacted a number of school districts in the area, including in Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Berks, and Delaware counties, as well as Philadelphia. Some reports indicate that swatting calls were made nationwide. Many districts have implemented lockdowns in the interest of safety, police said.
The incident at Council Rock North is under investigation by the Newtown Township Police Department.
