NEWTOWN, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre will present a “Paddington Party & Movie Screening” on Sunday, May 17 at 3 p.m. This event is part of the theatre’s 2026 Family Series, which is generously supported by Duane and Joyce Buck.
Doors will open at 2 p.m. and in the hour leading up to the screening of 2014’s “Paddington” guests will enjoy a marmalade sandwiches, a hat decorating station, a Paddington photo booth, Paddington stickers for every child, and a Paddington Politeness Pledge before the movie. Only 200 tickets will be sold for this one-time-only event.
Ticket holders are encouraged to bring their child’s teddy bear or favorite stuffed animal (one only please) to the theatre on Saturday, May 16 between the hours of 4 and 6 p.m. The theatre staff will treat the animals to a fun night at the theatre, taking photos of them, which children will take home following the Paddington event the next day.

“Paddington” tells the story of a young bear from Peru who travels to London with a sign around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Than you.” He taken in by the Brown family, but he soon attracts the attention of a villainous taxidermist who wants his rare hide. Rated G.
Tickets are available online at TheNewtownTheatre.com for $27 per person or $22 for theatre members and children 12 and under. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $37 at the door on the day of the movie (if available). All seating is general admission.
