Drug Arrest, Crashes, Juvenile Complaints: Northampton Twp. Police Report

Northampton Township police detailed incidents from April 20 through 26, including a traffic stop, crashes and service calls.

RICHBORO, PA — Northampton Township police reported a drug arrest, two traffic accidents and two juvenile complaints in its incident log covering April 20 through April 26.

The weekly report also listed patrol activity that included alarm calls, abandoned 911 calls, medical emergencies and crime prevention details across the township.

On April 20, patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a violation in the area of Almshouse Road and Hatboro Road. During the traffic stop, drugs and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle, and a passenger was taken into custody, police said.

Police also responded to two traffic accidents during the week. On April 21, police were called to Newtown-Richboro Road and 2nd Street Pike, where Unit 1 was traveling on Newtown-Richboro Road and entered the left turn lane to make a left turn onto 2nd Street Pike. While entering the turning lane, Unit 1 struck Unit 2, which was traveling in the same direction. A tow was not required, according to the report.

On April 23, patrol responded to Buck Hill Drive and Middle Holland Road for another traffic accident. Police reported that Unit 1 was traveling on Buck Hill Drive when it struck low-hanging cable wires. Verizon was contacted, and the wires were temporarily secured to a higher position, according to police.

The log also included two encounters involving juveniles. On April 24, while on patrol, an officer observed a juvenile operating a battery-powered go-kart on the roadway. Officers contacted the juvenile's parent, police said.

On April 25, officers observed juveniles operating e-bikes in a shopping center off 2nd Street Pike. Police spoke with the juveniles and their parents were contacted, according to the report. The same day, community officers participated in the Bucks County Prescription Drug Take Back event.

Other calls during the week included a pedestrian stop at 12:47 a.m. April 22 on Buck Road. Police reported that patrol observed an individual walking, made contact and were told the person was walking to their destination. The individual checked out OK and was provided with a courtesy transport, according to police.

On April 26, patrol responded to Coopers Place for a report of a found dog. Before arrival, the dog had already been reunited with its owner.

During this tour, patrol handled 14 alarm calls, 20 abandoned 911 calls, 31 medical emergencies, 4 bookings, 4 domestic disputes, 8 civil disputes, 85 traffic monitoring details and 20 crime prevention details, according to police.
