The Newtown-based school is praised for its rigorous academics, strong Catholic identity, and nurturing community, continuing a tradition of excellence that includes two prior National Blue Ribbon School honors.
2. Manager Retiring After 2 Years On The Job In Newtown Borough (patch.com) — Newtown Borough residents will soon see a major change at Borough Hall as longtime municipal professional Craig Totaro retires May 31 after two years as the town’s first borough manager. Council is hiring an outside accounting firm and the Meyner Center to handle finances and lead the search for his replacement, while officials credit Totaro with modernizing operations, saving money, and securing grants for sidewalks and park improvements in Newtown.
3. PIAA District 1 Class 6A: Council Rock North's season ends with loss to Plymouth-Whitemarsh in 11 innings (trentonian.com) — Council Rock North’s softball season ended in heartbreaking fashion in Newtown, where the Indians fell 4-3 to Plymouth-Whitemarsh in an 11-inning District 1 Class 6A playoff game resumed after a rain delay. Despite 11 hits, including five from leadoff star Kayla Ripper and a homer by Alison Bodick, Rock North stranded key runners and finished the year 14-7 while sharing the league title with Neshaminy.
4. Bucks County Podcast Star Alex Cooper Announces Pregnancy with Husband Matt Kaplan (bucksco.today) — Newtown native and podcast powerhouse Alex Cooper is expecting her first child with husband Matt Kaplan, and Bucks County fans are celebrating right along with her. The “Call Her Daddy” host shared the news on Instagram May 17, drawing a flood of congratulations and highlighting how closely locals have followed her rise from hometown athlete to digital media star.
