Newtown Township Public Works Employee Retires After Nearly 26 Years

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — John Ehlmann, who spent nearly 26 years working in the township's public works department, is joining the ranks of the retired.

Ehlmann began his career with Newtown Township on August 14, 2000, as a maintenance mechanic, and officially retired from the department effective May 29.

As a member of Newtown’s Department of Public Works, he handled many facets of public works, including maintaining the township complex facility and parks and recreation areas, repairing the township's fleet of vehicles, fixing road imperfections, and plowing snow during storm events.

"John’s service to the township and the community, his hard work, commitment, and contributions have made a lasting impact on this community and our police department," said Police Chief John Hearn. "On behalf of the Newtown Township Police Department, we thank John for his many years of service and wish him all the best in this exciting new chapter of life.
