Assault Charge, Retail Theft, Warrant Arrest: Newtown Township Police Report

Police reported a stalking incident, several assault cases, a $2,028 retail theft, and a warrant arrest during the week.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP , PA —The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following arrests and incidents between May 22 and 28, including a stalking and harassment case, an assault arrest, a retail theft investigation, and an arrest on an active warrant.

On May 22, as a result of an investigation that was initiated on April 8, a woman was charged with stalking and harassment. Police did not identify the person charged or provide any details regarding the incident.

Police also reported that at approximately 3:45 p.m., police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of a dispute. Following an investigation, a man was taken into custody and charged with simple assault. Police released no additional details about the dispute.

A retail theft investigation remained open as of May 27. At 3:45 p.m., police were dispatched to the Lululemon store on South Eagle Road in response to a report of a retail theft. According to police, the store reported a loss of $2,028. The investigation is ongoing.

Police also reported a warrant arrest tied to a traffic stop on May 28. At approximately 12:30 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Mercedes-Benz for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. As a result of the investigation, the driver was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department and transferred without incident.

Later that day, police received another assault complaint. At approximately 6 pm, police were contacted regarding an assault that allegedly occurred at a Newtown Township residence the previous day. The investigation is ongoing.
