NEWTOWN, PA — The 7th Annual Council Rock Education Foundation Golf Classic will tee-off on Monday, June 15 at the Jericho National Golf Club and businesses, community partners, and golfers are invited to participate.

"With the event just around the corner, sponsorship opportunities and golfer registration remain available for those looking to enjoy a memorable day on the course while making a meaningful investment in Council Rock students," said event organizers.

The event will feature golf, on-course games, giveaways, prizes, an auction, and a dinner reception, all in support of CREF’s mission to elevate and enhance educational opportunities for students throughout the Council Rock School District.

Funds raised through the event will help advance CREF’s educator-initiated learning grants, which provide teachers with the resources to bring meaningful, innovative ideas to life for their students. The grants support hands-on experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence, and strengthen learning across grade levels and subject areas.

A sample of grants activated during the 2025–26 school year include "One Book One School," which creates a shared reading experience that strengthens literacy, connects students and staff across grade levels, and invites families into a common learning moment.

Through "Pillars of Democracy," students explore government and civic responsibility through museum-quality exhibits designed to bring civic education to life.

The "Composer in Residence" project connects students with a professional composer through mentorship, original creation, and performance, helping strengthen musicianship, confidence, and student voice.

"These are just a few of the educator-initiated learning grants brought to life this year through CREF support," said organizers. "Additional funded experiences are enriching student learning in STEAM, science, business and economics, music, arts and humanities, wellness, and communication."

CREF’s impact also includes special, large-scale investments that create lasting value for students and schools, such as Nights for Knowledge, an academic support initiative, and Steinway pianos at both Council Rock high schools, expanding opportunities in music education and performance for years to
come.

“The Golf Classic is a fun and meaningful way for our community to come together in support of students,” said Jennifer Pfanstiel, CREF Board President. “When businesses sponsor the event and golfers register to play, they are helping educators create experiences that inspire students, expand
learning, and make a lasting difference across Council Rock.”

Since 2007, CREF has supported nearly 200 learning initiatives for Council Rock students through community engagement and philanthropic support.

Local businesses are encouraged to become sponsors, and golfers are invited to register individually or as a foursome. By participating in the CREF Golf Classic, community members can enjoy a great day on the course while helping turn educator-initiated ideas into meaningful opportunities for students.
