Newtown Firefighter/EMT Retires After 28 Years Of Service

Fire Chief Glenn Forsyth said Mike Bean's service left a lasting impact on Newtown Fire Rescue and the residents of Newtown.

NEWTOWN, PA — The leaders and members of Newtown Fire Rescue on June 5 recognized the retirement of Firefighter/EMT Mike Bean after 28 years of service to the community.

Bean, who served the department for nearly three decades, will be taking a new job with the Bucks County Fire Marshal's office where he will continue his career in public service.

During his nearly three decades with the department, Bean has worked as a shift supervisor and as a field officer training new members of the department. His work has spanned countless calls, challenging incidents, and memorable moments.

Chief Glenn Forsyth credited Bean with making a long-term mark on the department and on the community.

“His contributions have left a lasting impact on Newtown Fire Rescue and the residents we are privileged to serve,” said Chief Forsyth. “While his retirement marks the end of an extraordinary chapter, the legacy of his service and dedication will continue to inspire future generations of first responders”
