UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — A bear has been sighted roaming around the township in the area of Stoneybrook Road and Dunkin Drive, according to Upper Makefield Township Police.
A township resident alerted police to a bear in the area of Stoneybrook Road on Wednesday. And this morning, police said a resident sent them a video of a juvenile bear taking a stroll past their home Thursday morning.
"Given our area, we typically have a bear sighting every year," police said. "Please follow the home safety tips we’ve included in the post. We will continue to monitor the situation and as always, you can give us a call."
This is the fifth bear sighting in Bucks County this spring.
The first sighting was reported on May 22 in Solebury Township. A few days later, one was spotted in Plumstead Township. And on May 29, a bear was reported in New Britain Township.
The first sighting in Lower Bucks was reported in early June in the Holland section of Northampton Township.
