Family Fun Day Takes A Step Back In Time At Newtown's Half-Moon Inn

The free community event invites families, children, and history enthusiasts to enjoy an afternoon of hands-on activities, games, and more.

NEWTOWN, PA — The public is invited to step back in time and experience the sights, sounds, and activities of early America at the Newtown Historic Association's Family
Fun Day, taking place on Sunday, June 28, from 1 to 4
p.m. at the historic Half-Moon Inn in Newtown Borough.

The free community event invites families, children, and history enthusiasts of all ages to enjoy an afternoon of hands-on activities, games, and educational experiences celebrating America's heritage and its 250th birthday.

Visitors are invited to explore the historic Half-Moon Inn through docent-led tours while participating in a variety of family-friendly activities, including: Historical dress photo opportunities, America 250 Coloring Contest, corn hole, potato sack races, spoon and potato races, tug-of-war, Colonial muster drills, quilt-making activity, and quill pen and ink writing.

The event is designed to give children and adults a chance to experience some of the games, crafts, and traditions enjoyed by earlier generations while learning more about Newtown's rich history.

"Family Fun Day is a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to connect with local history in a fun and interactive way," said the Newtown Historic Association. "Whether you're touring the Half-Moon Inn, trying your hand at writing with a quill pen, or competing in a potato sack race, there will be something for everyone to enjoy."

The event is free and open to the public, and membership in the Newtown Historic Association is not required to attend.
