NEWTOWN, PA — With the extreme heat hitting this week, the Newtown Township Administration Building and Newtown Fire Rescue Station 45 will be open to residents as a refuge from the heat.
The township building will be open on Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 100 Municipal Drive, Newtown 18940. The building will be closed on Friday and over the weekend for the Fourth of July holiday.
Station 45 will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 14 Liberty Street, Newtown 18940, throughout the heatwave.
Station 45 may be locked and unoccupied if you stop by because firefighters are responding to incidents, but they will return. Firefighters are on duty every day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; residents can stop by anytime during working hours, in addition to the offering of refuge during the heatwave.
If you have any questions, contact 215-968-2800 ext. 255, and for any emergencies, call 911 immediately.
