Newtown SPEAKeasy Series Announces July Performance Lineup

NEWTOWN, PA — Local stories will come to life at the ArtWRKD Exhibition Space in Newtown on Saturday, July 25 as part of its monthly SPEAKeasy series. The audience enters through a secret bookcase and watches as one poet, one songwriter, and one storyteller take the mic.

This month, Frenchtown native Clover Stieve headlines the night. Whether groove-driven tunes, or powerful ballads, Clover touches on topics of love, grief, empowerment, and spirituality. Her debut EP, "Atlas," recorded at Electric Lady Studios, was released in May 2025 and her full-length LP is set to release in 2026.

Doylestown's own Josh Fields is the featured storyteller. He is the founder and CEO of The Next Step Programs (TNS), an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live, work, and belong in their communities.

Recognized by Forbes as a 30 Under 30 honoree for Social Impact, Josh’s work has grown from an idea he started as a teenager into a regional organization serving individuals and families across Pennsylvania. Through his storytelling, Josh
shares reflections on leadership, loss, and community.

Carly Volpe, 2018 Bucks County Poet Laureate, kicks off the show. Volpe’s writing explores memory, resilience, love, and the search for authentic connection, inviting readers into moments that are both deeply personal and universally recognizable. She is the author of "Until the Roof Lifted Off," a collection that pairs poetry with her original illustrations. Her work has been featured at literary events throughout
the region, where she continues to share her passion for poetry and the power of storytelling.

The series has garnered a popular following as a casual loungey night out. Food and beverage are served
downstairs at Triple Sun Spirits.

SPEAKeasy is a collaboration between ArtWRKD gallerist and curator Ashara Shapiro and Joe Montone, founder of Stage United. The duo also co-host the evening.
