NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA - The Opus Outreach Foundation is bringing its popular “Music on the Street” summer concert series to Newtown Borough in July, August and early September.

The free concerts will be held every Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. through September 3 in front of the Opus Elite Real Estate Office at 16 South State Street.

The public is invited to enjoy live music, support local talent, and spend an evening with friends, family, and neighbors in the heart of Newtown.

"We have an awesome lineup this year with lots of new musicians, all local to the area," said Mark Gatta of Opus Elite Real Estate. "We have everything from individual solo artists to full bands coming. We'll have music from the 1950s to today and everything in between."

While the concert is free and open to the public thanks to the support of local sponsors, donations will be accepted by the Opus Outreach Foundation, which gives back to local families facing adverse situations.

"Bring chairs. Bring blankets. Bring some drinks (non-alcoholic). You can line up on both sides of the street," said Gatta. "The office will be open for anyone to use the restrooms or to cool down on the hot days. You can also grab some water and some snacks inside. And if they want to buy a glass of lemonade, that will benefit the foundation as well."

After two weather cancellations, music is expected to fill the air Thursday evening with Out Of Pocket, a high energy band bringing its audiences music from the Top 100. Their appearance is sponsored by ATG Abstract LLC Title Services at 16 South State Street.

The series continues with Anthony Wexler on July 30, Brian Ulrich on August 6, John Thomas on August 13, School of Rock Newtown on August 20, Aim X Dam on August 27 and Meg Russell on September 3.
