Yoga At The Market In Wrightstown To Benefit Pancreatic Cancer Research

WRIGHTSTOWN, PA — Elle Kaplan, owner of TrueYoga Studio in Wrightstown, is again partnering with Newtown-based non-profit A Love for Life and the Wrightstown Farmers Market to help raise funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer research.

On Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, a series of fun community yoga classes will take place on the grounds of the Middletown Grange Fair at 576 Penn's Park Road during the morning's weekly farm market.

There is a suggested donation of $20, which is encouraged but not required. Should anyone wish to join in, they are welcome. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to take part. If anyone has a yoga mat or blanket, they should bring it, but extras will be available. The Central Bucks chapter of the National Charity League will be on hand to help everything run smoothly.

"We are so thankful to Elle and Cheryl Gilmore ( who runs the market) for all of their enthusiasm and efforts to help bring this 3rd annual fundraiser to fruition," said Christine Edmonds, president of A Love For Life and wife of the late Kevin Edmonds who died from the disease. "It's such a perfect combination of healthy food and amazing market vendors and local farms and neighbors and friends coming together for a fun stretch."

She continued, "Folks can do any one or all of the consecutive classes- they are casual and geared for everyone- even those who have never tried yoga before. Elle is an experienced and encouraging teacher who can shepherd everyone into the path that feels best for them. We have some company sponsors and have fun tank tops printed that will be for sale, and 100 percent of the money we raise is matched by a corporate sponsor, so it's a great way to fund our research team at Penn."

Elle Kaplan, who is leading "Yoga at the Market," explained that A Love for Life was founded in honor of her friend, Kevin Edmonds, and his sister, Nora, who both died from pancreatic cancer.

"It brings me joy to be able to help facilitate this annual event in their honor. We also plan to have a November fundraiser at our studio during pancreatic cancer awareness month- our brand new studio is just a few blocks further up 413 from the market," added Kaplan. "We hope everyone will come out and join us."
