Meth Found During Traffic Stop, Driver Charged In Upper Makefield

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — A driver is facing drug-related charges after a car stop yielded suspected methamphetamine.

Police stopped the car on Friday at 12:23 p.m. in the area of Washington Crossing Road and Lindenhurst Road for an equipment violation. When officers spoke with the driver, they observed narcotics in plain view.

The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle, but refused, demanding that a supervisor be contacted. Police said when the driver was told that they were not entitled to one, they called 911 while refusing to get out of the vehicle.

The driver was removed from the vehicle and was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine/buprenorphine, abuse of 911, and resisting arrest. The driver's next stop will be in court.
