NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The Newtown Borough-based nonprofit "A Love For Life" will hold a charity garage sale on Saturday to benefit its pancreatic cancer research team at Penn Medicine.
The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 117 N. Lincoln Ave. in Newtown Borough. Donation-based refreshments will also be available, in addition to custom-branded T-shirts and mini-bouquets.
"All week, neighbors have been stopping by and dropping off some great things they have held onto over the year to donate to our sale," said the organization's president Christine Edmonds. "We have sets of china and books, men's and women's clothing, home goods, art and furniture. We also have a higher-end curated spot for more expensive items so people who are looking for an old shovel don't have to look at a lot of crystal glassware."
All of the money raised by the group will fund pancreatic cancer research. In addition, there is a 100 percent match of all cash donations made at the sale.
There is also a new "A Love for Life" eBay online shop, with all sales going to a dedicated bank account at WSFS. A link may be found on the nonprofit's website aloveforlife.us
