UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — A driver was seriously hurt early Sunday morning when his car left the roadway, drove up an embankment and ended up in heavy brush in the 1000 block of Eagle Road.
First responders from Upper Makefield and Newtown were called to the scene for a one-car accident with extrication.
Upper Makefield's Engine 81 and Rescue 71, along with Newtown Fire Rescue Rescue 45, Newtown Ambulance Squad Medic 172, and Upper Makefield Township Police arrived to find a driver heavily entrapped in their vehicle.
The rescue operation ran seamlessly with Upper Makefield, Newtown Fire, Newtown EMS and Upper Makefield Police working together to free the trapped driver.

Lingohocken Fire Company Rescue 35 was added halfway through the call and assisted in the completion of the extrication.
The driver was taken to the hospital with what police described as serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by police. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the police department.
