Residents can enjoy Santa's Village starting at 11 a.m., then line Washington Avenue and Sycamore Street for the 12:30 p.m. step-off, while local businesses and nonprofits are encouraged to register or sponsor now.
3. Market Day Brings The Past Alive In Historic Newtown Borough (patch.com) — Newtown Borough's historic streets came alive as Market Day drew big crowds for colonial demonstrations, live music, wagon rides, and more than 90 craft booths, all supporting the Newtown Historic Association. Visitors explored the Half-Moon Inn, learned about Revolutionary War life, and heard about upcoming Newtown history programs, including an Oct. 22 talk on the Doan Gang robbery and a November program on Archambault Square.
4. Driver Seriously Hurt In Early Morning Crash In Upper Makefield (patch.com) — Emergency crews from Newtown joined Upper Makefield responders early Sunday after a car left Eagle Road, trapping the driver in heavy brush and causing serious injuries. Fire, EMS, and police from both townships worked together on a complex extrication before the victim was taken to the hospital, and investigators are now asking anyone who saw the crash to contact police.
5. BG Chad C. Chalfont (army.mil) — A high-ranking Army officer highlighted in this profile grew up in Newtown giving local residents a direct hometown connection to his long military career.
