LAHASKA, PA — Peddler's Village will hold a trunk-or-treat event on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and is inviting families to arrive in costume for an evening of Halloween activities.
According to the village, guests are invited to visit Trunk-or-Treat Lane, where decorated vehicles from residents and organizations will be on display.
Families are also invited to trick-or-treat through the village neighborhoods and participating shops, with candy spots, photo opportunities and family-friendly costumes part of the event.
Between 15 and 25 festively decorated trunks with Halloween themes will be parked behind the Visitor & Event Center. Vehicle owners will give away candy treats and compete for prizes in a decorated trunk contest.
Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite entries in three categories: Most Spooktacular Trunk, Best Family-Friendly Theme and Most Creative Design.
The festive Halloween event is open to guests of all ages and will offer a "safe, kid-friendly trick-or-treating experience."
Peddler's Village is also inviting local community organizations, businesses and families to take part in the Truck-or-Treat by registering their vehicles. Registration is open through Thursday.
The posted rules say vehicles "must be parked and remain stationary during the event" and that "only individually wrapped, store-bought treats may be distributed." The rules also ban "open flames, candles, or hazardous decorations" and state that "decorations and costumes must be family-friendly."
Children taking part in the event must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
Families planning to attend can expect costumed activities throughout the property during the three-hour event.
