Art Students from Newtown Shine at Grange Fair

Some of the area's best artists were on display at the fair.

Several talented young artists from Newtown recently exhibited their work in the 2015 Middletown Grange Fair Art Show.

Among the participants who won ribbons and awards were Newtown’s Connor Boucher, Erin Casey, Olivia Kelly, Anna Lee, Hanna Lipski, Kate Logan, Abbie Lustig, Nolan Riesenberger, Katie Sukunda, Anna Williamson, and Sarah Williamson.

As a group the exhibiting art students earned a total of 19 ribbons and awards at the Grange Fair, but all are clearly winners.

These same gifted young people have been using their artistic skills to give back to their community. They have used their art to create outdoor signs for The Churchville Nature Center, and beautiful note cards for the nature center’s gift shop.

All of the proceeds will benefit the nature center, which is a non-profit educational organization located at 501 Churchville Lane, in Churchville.

If you didn’t get a chance to attend the grange fair and see the work of young local artists, the Newtown community will have another opportunity to see more of their art at their group art exhibit on Saturday, September 19.

The even will be hosted by Countryside Gallery on 2 South State Street in Newtown. Admission is free.
