Jingle Mingle In Newtown To Benefit 'A Love For Life'
Proceeds from the holiday shopping event to benefit pancreatic cancer research.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — A Jingle Mingle charity shopping event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 9 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Newtown Hardware House on South State Street.
Fifteen percent of the sales that night will benefit Newtown-based A Love For Life, a nonprofit founded by Christine Edmonds to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research at the Abramson Cancer Center in Philadelphia. Coincidentally, the cancer center will also be celebrating its 50th anniversary on Thursday.
"Since it’s such a busy time of year and many neighbors and friends will not be able to join us Thursday evening, the Hardware House has generously offered to extend the 15 percent donation
to include all sales on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well," said Christine.

"It’s a great chance to stock up on leaf bags and ball jars and holiday gifts and custom-branded
Newtown t-shirts and caps,” said Christine. "I hope everyone will stop down for some holiday cheer and see friends and neighbors, old and new.
"Several fine art prints of the Hardware House signed by artist Jennifer Hansen Rolli will also be available. In addition, there will be a craft beer tasting on Saturday afternoon from noon to 3 p.m. featuring selections from Isaac Newton’s Bar and Restaurant," said Christine.

Hardware House owners Bill and Meg Newell were friends with Christine’s husband, Kevin, who passed away from pancreatic cancer and who's life inspired Christine to found A Love For Life in 2012.
Since its founding, the Newell's have been staunch supporters of A Love For Life. The store also lost one of its most valued employees to pancreatic cancer so the cause is an especially meaningful one to them.
Year-round, a percentage of each bag of its world-famous Newtown Hardware House cookies goes to research through A Love for Life.
To date, A Love for Life has raised more than $1 million for the Abramson Cancer Center and will be donating another $100,000 on Nov. 15 in celebration of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
Yoga Fundraiser In Newtown, Doylestown
In addition, YogaSix and Elle Kaplan are teaming up with A Love for Life to offer two fun events to help raise money for pancreatic cancer research.
There will be two separate events- one at the YogaSix location in Newtown at 46 West Road next to the Acme to be held on Friday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. and on Friday, Nov. 17 at the YogaSix location in Doylestown at 4337 W. Swamp Road in Cross Keys Place, also at 6 p.m.
The studios will be offering a short yoga class led by Elle Kaplan, who has been coordinating monthly donation-based classes for A Love for Life for over a decade. The classes will be geared for all levels, and appropriate for those who have never tried yoga before.
Afterwards, there will be light refreshments, wine and fresh juices.
“Elle has been such a force of nature in the world of yoga,” said Edmonds. "We are so grateful to her and studio owner Liz Witt and her team who are donating 100 percent of the $25 class fee to research.”
To register for the class, visit the Penn Giving Page at www.aloveforlife.us or call the studio at 267-493-0575.
