Listener and Healer, Sandra Boone, To Speak At Newtown Quaker Meeting

NEWTOWN, PA — Sandra Boone will speak on KNOTTED LEGACY: LOVING NEIGHBORS at the historic Newtown Quaker Meetinghouse, 219 Court Street www.newtownfriendsmeeting.org at 11:15 a.m. on First Day (Sunday), November 12. Traditional Quaker Meeting for Worship based on expectant silence will be at 10 a.m. The public is invited.

Sandra’s talk will describe one Quaker’s journey of “intentionally unknotting history, liberating opportunities for inclusion, and healing – apologies, acknowledgements, and acts of love.” The discussion will focus on “exploring wonderings” and potential next steps together.

Sandra is described as “born gifted with listening and observing, called to be near conditions of exclusion, “be-living” the Light, Sandra says, “from a time before acclimation, we notice inherent (Spirit given) gifts within, meant for living peace.”

The Nanticoke-Lenni Lenape Tribal Nation considers sandra boone to be “extended family.” Sandra is also a member of the National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition, the National Congress of American Indians, and the Boone Society. Sandra initiated an Indian Affairs Committee of Salem (NJ) Quarterly Meeting of Quakers and the First Contact Reconciliation Collaborative of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting (Quakers).

Boone has earned a B.S. Ed, M.S., 6 certification areas, and has been employed by a wide variety of institutions in PA, MD, NJ, and DE. Currently, Sandra is researching family and Quaker roles in Indian Boarding Schools, engaging in rematriation, and providing opportunities for healing on their farm/ sanctuary, residing with Jim, equine kids, and abundant flora & fauna.

Newtown Friends Meeting was co-founded by "Peaceable Kingdom" painter and Quaker minister, Edward Hicks, in 1815.
