NEWTOWN, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre will screen “Sourlands” on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. The screening is co-hosted by Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve.

“Sourlands” is a documentary about a forested area between New York City and Philadelphia that has survived the bulldozers of development. The locals call this place the Sourland Mountains, or sometimes simply “the Sourlands.”

The documentary weaves a provocative tale of ecology, energy and agriculture, told from the perspective of the remarkable citizens who live in this deep forest surrounded by urban sprawl. Viewers will learn about the Sourlands’ ecological importance, as well as the grave threats it faces.
