NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Newtown-based A Love For Life is teaming up with the Pro Shop Newtown to present a tennis benefit and party for pancreatic cancer research on Saturday, April 29.

The fun begins at 7 p.m. at the Northampton Tennis and Fitness Club at 405 Richboro Road in Richboro. There will be fun, food, drinks, music, raffles, prizes and tennis to watch or play.

"We had such a good time at our last two events that we are going to host another," said Kathleen McCafferty, owner of the ProShop.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to Penn's Abramson Cancer Center where research is underway on new medicines and treatments.

“There is no need to even touch a racquet at this event if you are not a tennis player," said A Love for Life President Christine Edmonds. "You could just think of it as a party with music and some courtside cocktails and light refreshments.”

The event raised more than $8,000 last year.

The cost of the event is $60 if you want to play tennis or $30 to just hang out and enjoy the fun. A $50 donation online will buy 15 raffle tickets. You do not have to attend the event to win any of the many raffle items. Donations are 100 percent tax deductible as the page/link goes straight to Penn. The first 50 people to sign up will receive a custom A Love for Life logo tennis/golf towel.

There are also opportunities for Council Rock students who need LINCS volunteer credits.
