Touch A Truck Experience Coming To Veterans Park In Newtown
The event gives youngsters a chance to explore some of the big trucks and cars that are part of everyday life in the township.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — What do you get when you mix kids with big trucks, police cars, fire engines, garbage trucks and ambulances? Plenty of excitement, smiling faces and lots and lots of honking horns and sirens.
The Newtown Township Parks and Recreation Department and Newtown Fire Rescue will stage its popular spring Touch A Truck event on Thursday, April 6 at Veterans Park, 234 Durham Road, Newtown, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Stop by and see up close the big, hardworking trucks that service the township. Participants this year include: Newtown Fire Rescue, the Newtown Township Police Department, Newtown Township Public Works, Newtown Ambulance Squad, Durham School Services, Leck Waste Services, SEPTA, Penske Truck Rental, Monster Tree Service, Marrazzo's Manor Lane Landscaping, United States Postal Service and Rita's Water Ice of Newtown.

Among the highlights will be the landing of a Temple Medivac helicopter. Once it lands, youngsters will have the rare opportunity to take a look inside.
In addition to the trucks and vehicles, Uncle Bob's Food Truck will be selling food at the event. Additional parking will be available at the Newtown Elementary School on Wrights Road. The rain date is Monday, April 10 from 10:30 a.m to 1 p.m.
