1 Detained In Norristown As Increased ICE Activity Reported

"Though the administration wants us to feel scared and helpless, we are committed to documenting ICE in (Montco)," a watchdog group said.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Increased activity from immigrations and customs enforcement agents was reported by watchdog and advocacy groups around Norristown on Friday, with at least one person taken into custody.

ICE presence is nothing new in Norristown, as it's one of the region's immigrant-heavy communities that have been targeted by agents since President Trump's crackdown began nearly a year ago.

However, the increased sightings on Friday come in the midst of heightened tensions nationwide, after police said a woman was shot and killed by ICE agents in Minnesota and two were shot and injured in Portland.
