NORRISTOWN, PA -- What's the most dangerous neighborhood in Norristown? The folks over at CrimeMapping.com have partnered with several area law enforcement agencies to create an interactive and searchable map which tracks all recent reports of crime.
A total of 174 criminal incidents have been reported in the Norristown area over the last four weeks, including the date range of November 16 through December 14.
The most common offense involved drug and alcohol violations (50). That was followed by assault(30) in second, and larceny (26) in third. Vehicle break-ins (15) and vandalism (14) were the next two most common crimes.

Friday, unexpectedly, was the most crime-ridden day in Norristown over the past month with 34 incidents. Thursday came in second with 30, followed by Saturday with 28.
As the map indicates, different types of crime were common in different parts of the borough, making a "most dangerous" neighborhood judgement based purely off of crime reports difficult. Most drug and alcohol violations centered around downtown. Vehicle break-ins were concentrated in the northeast part of the borough. Crimes like thefts and assaults were scattered throughout the area.
