2 Chances For Snow In Eastern PA In Coming Week: Latest Forecast

Forecasters are still uncertain how the storms will track, with rain, snow, and dry warmth all possible.

(AccuWeather)

EASTERN PA — Two storm fronts are headed towards the mid-Atlantic region, bringing rain and potentially snow to large swaths of the state. However, it appears the greater Philadelphia area will avoid the worst impacts, according to the latest forecasts.

The first front will arrive on Saturday afternoon. It's quick-moving and weak system, and nearly all of the southeastern part of the state and south Jersey appear in current forecasts as if they will escape the weekend dry. Snow is forecasted in nearly the entire upper half of the state.

"There could be just enough snow or a wintry mix to make some roads slippery during the first part of the weekend in portions of the mid-Atlantic," AccuWeather says.

The more important front will arrive next Monday into Tuesday, with rain heavy at times in the region. Whether a wintry mix occurs will depend on the low-pressure system's track and remaining cold air in the region, so forecasters say it's difficult to predict the storm's impact as of Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, warm weather will be general throughout the region Thursday, though some areas will be warmer than others. The city and immediate suburbs are right in the middle, with highs in the low to mid 60s.
