2 Days Before Trump Inauguration, Civil Rights Groups Will Rally In Montco
"The People's Rally" aims to gather support for reproductive rights, climate action, healthcare, trans rights, and more.
NORRISTOWN, PA — Two days before President-elect Donald Trump's second inauguration, a group of Montgomery County social justice and civil rights groups will gather to march and rally before the county courthouse steps in Norristown.
The event, being called "The People's Rally," will take place from noon to 3 p.m. on Jan. 18.
The 400 block of Swede Street will be shut down during the event.

"Together, we’re standing for democracy, equality, and justice, with incredible speakers addressing key issues like reproductive rights, climate action, healthcare, trans rights, and more," event organizers said.
County commissioner Jamila Winder and State Sen. Amanda Cappelletti will deliver keynote speeches, and remarks will be given by leaders from PA Youth Vote, the Clean Air Council, ACLU PA, Daydream Kreative, Norristown Hospitality Center, and more.

The rally brings to the forefront anxieties sparked by many over the impact of proposed policies in President Trump's second term. His inauguration will be held on Jan. 20.
