2 Detained In ICE Raid In Bridgeport, Activists Say
"Another family separated today," a local advocacy group said. "Another friend, father, brother, son who disappears."
BRIDGEPORT, PA — Two people were taken into custody by ICE agents as part of a raid in Bridgeport on Friday morning, activists said.
Voces Norristown Radio, one of the largest watchdog and advocacy groups for the immigrant community in the Philadelphia area with 22,000 Facebook followers, said that the arrests were made near the Bridgeport borough hall parking lot.
"Another family separated today," the organization said. "Another friend, father, brother, son who disappears before the eyes of people who are invaded by the powerlessness of not being able to do anything."

The identities of the individuals taken have not been announced.

ICE is operating in Montgomery County without cooperation from local law enforcement agencies, as county leaders have refused federal requests to cooperate. The county is among more than 500 "sanctuary" counties and cities and even a few states that have made a Homeland Security list of jurisdictions deliberately obstructing the Trump administration's mass deportations of immigrants.
Bridgeport is among several local communities with strong immigrant populations that have nonetheless seen ICE raids and activity. Nearby, both Norristown and West Norriton have experienced major raids over the last several months, while advocacy organizations reported ICE arrests in West Chester on Friday morning.
