202 To Be Restricted Near Norristown

Additional traffic is possible over the next two weeks as bridge construction gets underway near Norristown.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Lane closures on U.S. 202 could bring addition delays to the Norristown area as bridge construction work gets underway.

PennDOT announced that 202 — Markley Street — will be limited to one lane in the southbound direction between Marshall and Airy streets this Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Friday, Sept. 10. The closure will also be in place from Monday, Sept. 13 to Friday, Sept. 17.

The closures will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on each of those days.

Detours will run from DeKalb Pike in Bridgeport to the Main Street intersection on the north side of Dannehower Bridge.

The ongoing work on area bridges, which includes repairs on the southbound bridge over Stony Creek and and at 202 near Main and Markley streets, is expected to be complete in late 2022.
