202 Mostly Reopened Amid Latest Sinkhole Crisis In King Of Prussia
But some of the closure remains in place, with no estimate for when it will be reopened.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Most lanes of Route 202 near King of Prussia have been reopened after several days of closures following the latest sinkholes in the region.
Both nortbound lanes of the road, which runs as DeKalb Pike near the mall, have been reopened Tuesday after the closure between Henderson Road and Saulin Boulevard.
One southbound lane was reopened as well, but one lane remains shut down as repairs continue. There's no estimated timeline for when that work will be completed.

Asphalt paving operations remain underway, a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.
Sinkholes in the area opened up last Thursday morning, Dec. 14, and new holes were discovered on Friday. Officials believe there is limestone under the surface, which can wear away and destabilize the surface when flooded with water from heavy storms. Rainfall the past two weekends has increased the groundwater and delayed the time for repairs to the road to set, officials said.

The closures had impacted traffic over one of the busiest weekends of the year for the roadway, which leads to the King of Prussia Mall and other area businesses seeing heightened congestion this time of year.
