3 Major Montco Infrastructure Projects Get $1 Million In Funding
A new Pennsylvania Turnpike ramp, a bridge replacement, and more received crucial funding this week in Montgomery County.
NORRISTOWN, PA — Three major road construction projects in Montgomery County have been awarded funding in what officials say will be a major boon to regional infrastructure.
A ramp in Lower Pottsgrove, a bridge in Upper Dublin, and an intersection in Whitpain will all move forward thanks to the grants.
“Transportation is vital to the quality of life for all Montgomery County residents,” Montgomery County Commissioner Ken Lawrence said in a statement. "That’s why Montgomery County is pleased to partner with our local municipalities to fund needed improvements for our transportation infrastructure."

The grants are provided through the Montgomery County Transportation Program, funded by the county's $5 Vehicle Registration Revenue Fee.
Lower Pottsgrove's North Adams Street Bridge Rehabilitation

The township will receive $310,145 to rehabilitate the North Adams Street Bridge over Sprogles Run. The bridge superstructure will be replaced, and new beams and decking will be installed.
Upper Dublin's Fort Washington Zip Ramp
The Fort Washington interchange of the Pennsylvania Turnpike will get $350,000 for a new ramp into the Greater Fort Washington business park at Commerce Drive, along with traffic signals, signs, and stormwater management.
Whitpain's Jolly Road/Wentz Road Intersection
Whitpain will receive $361,495 to install a right turn lane from westbound Jolly Road onto Wentz Road, as well as additional sidewalks between Jolly Road and Horseshoe Drive.
The County Transportation Program has awarded 45 grants to 27 different municipalities over the past six years.
