4 New Children Adopted In Montgomery County

The county held a celebration to acknowledge the successful move of four children out of foster homes.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County officials celebrated the successful adoptions of four local children out of foster care during a special ceremony recently.

The even honored the new adoptive families and promoted the importance of foster care, adoption, and working together as a community to protect all children.

“Approving adoptions and helping to support formation of families is one of the most important and rewarding actions that Judges take,” Judge Lois E. Murphy, who works in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Orphans’ Court Division, said in a statement. “It is an honor to celebrate these families – the adoptive parents, the children, and the members of the community who have supported them in their journey."

The event, organized by the Montgomery County Orphans’ Court Administration and the Office of Children and Youth, coincided with National Adoption Day, historically the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

More than 108,000 children in the American foster care system are awaiting adoption, including more than 2,500 in Pennsylvania.
